After 6 years service in the Royal Air Force (early entry) 5 of which were as a Rad’ Nav’ I have spent the last 48 years in the Construction Industry and
have had experience at all levels of management with both Consultants and mainly Contractors in the UK, later in the Middle and Far East and the US of A.
The initial 8 years were spent with prestigious Consultants both working and studying, reaching the level of Structural RE. I then moved to the Contracting side of the industry where I have spent the remainder of my years.
I advanced through Senior Civil Site Engineer, Sub-Agent, Agent and Contracts Manager and finally specialising in Construction Planning in the UK for various contractors.
I then moved to Iran in 1976 for 10 years firstly as a Civils Agent for Dutch and US companies remaining there post revolution working for indigenous companies and government organisations, mainly oil and gas orientated, with a year out in Saudi Arabia.
Late ’86 I moved to Hong Kong as Building Planning Manager for a leading Australian and then a major local company. I spent ’93 in Kuwait as Project Control Manager for an Italian oil company but moved back to Hong Kong as Planning Manager for a prestigious Commercial Consultant remaining there until December 1998. During this later stage I developed skills as an expert witness for liability and quantum.
From Jan ’98 to date I have been UK based working for several leading Commercial Consultants on a contract basis both here in the UK and worldwide, (USA, Hong Kong, Singapore, Philippines, Middle East, Eastern Mediteranean and N Africa) on current work and formulation of claims and preparation for tribunal reviews.
I have experienced most forms of construction, trades and specialist installations, and have used most major planning software.
