A very positive meeting took place between David Gibson, Chief Executive of the Society of Professional Engineers and Karen Seiles, Office Manager of The Institution of Diagnostic Engineers where the current reciprocal arrangements were reinforced. The process enables members of both Professional bodies to apply and gain membership on a reciprocal basis.
The meeting also provided an opportunity to explore initiatives for future cooperation which will be developed over the coming months.
The Institution of Diagnostic Engineers was founded in 1981 by the late Dr. Ralph Callocott who specialised in Vibration Monitoring and Contition Monitoring t the De Montfort University. Membership of the Institution is open to engineers involved in the science and practive of Diagnostic Engineering in all areas of industry or acedemia.
The Institute was registered in September 2000 as a charity under the name of 'Society of Diagnostic Engineers'.
The Annual General Meeting of the Institution of Diagnostic Engineers will be held on 12th September 2008 and will be represented by the SPE.
The meeting will be held at Terex, the Coventry based construction equipment company followed by a tour of the works.
